Mango seed butter
What it does: emollient, conditioning
Also called: mango seed oil, mangifera indica seed oil
Mango seed oil is a soft solid, off-white/ivory butter or oil coming from the kernel (the seed inside of the seed) of the mango. Similar to many other plant oils, it's a great moisturizing and nourishing emollient oil. It has medium spreadability and gives skin a creamy-dry feel.
It's loaded with a bunch of things that are good for skin and hair: it contains almost all of the essential amino acids, has several antioxidant phenolic compounds (including famous antioxidant ferulic acid) and is a rich source of nourishing fatty acids (like stearic and oleic acid).
Benefits for your hair
Promotes hydration and hair growth
Rich in vitamins A and E, mango butter has a deep moisturizing and regenerative effect on both strands and scalp. It fortifies strands from the inside out, softens dry hair, reduces breakage, and smooths split ends.
Prevents scalp irritation
The vitamins A and E are also amazing when it comes to locking in moisture and helping to prevent scalp irritation and flaking—without leaving the hair greasy or limp.
Mango seed oil promotes hair growth, prevents scalp irritation and is great for moisturization.
